Prepare yourself for a life-changing experience... To date, the total population of earth circa 7,285,325,905 just 545 people have visited space, with XCOR and the Lynx spacecraft you now have the chance join these pioneers.
Space tourism is not a new concept during the last 15 years a handful of pioneers have paid between $20 and $40 million to experience what could be considered as the ultimate experience of traveling to Space and looking down to Earth.
With XCOR's Lynx spacecraft and the development that is currently being undertaken this experience could be enjoyed by the masses. The XCOR experience is unlike any of the competitors, you travel in the co-pilots seat just you and our highly experienced pilot venture into the stars. 0-60mph in 0.8 Seconds with Horizontal Launch, Complete Instant Weightless-ness, Breaking of the Sound Barrier, Experience Mach 3, Complete Silence (non-existent on Earth), a view of Planet Earth, become an Astronaut for life - enter the history books.
For a fraction of the price to that of the last 10 space tourists you could enjoy being one of the first to visit the stars;
The journey of space travel is not just about reaching the stars but how you get there. With XCOR's space program, training is essential and therefore an exciting array of training missions are available to both enjoy and prepare you for the travel ahead.
A state of the art simulator and unique in its kind. Built by the Austrian company AMST and TNO, it is located in the Netherlands. Desdemona is the first simulator that is both full-motion and capable of generating all possible G-Forces up to 3.3G. In the cockpit, an advanced high resolution video simulation gives the astronaut a view of almost 80 degrees wide. No simulator anywhere in the world can generate the high performance simulation you will experience in the Desdemona.
During your training in the G-centrifuge, you will experience the effects of elevated G-levels (up to 4G). And, more importantly, learn how to be ready for them. During the G-centrifuge Training Mission, you will take a seat in a small cockpit simulator, which flies high-speed circles at the end of a mechanical arm. Professional instructors will teach you several simple techniques to deal with the high G-levels. And enjoy them!
Experience weightlessness. Zero-G or parabolic flights are conducted on a specially equipped aircraft, to simulate zero-G. You will be weightless for about 20 seconds during a special maneuver called a parabola. These can be repeated 20-30 times per flight. During the short periods of weightlessness, you will experience the same sensations that astronauts feel in space. You will be able to float freely through the cabin and may train to perform various tasks in weightless conditions.
Flight in the L39 Albatros Jet
The L-39 Albatros is a single engine, tandem seat jet trainer. This high performance jet is ideally suited to prepare for space flight in the Lynx Mark II. You will fly in the back seat, behind our professional instructor pilot, and gain valuable experience flying in a high performance aircraft, wearing a helmet and dealing with varying G-levels. We simulate the most important stages of your space flight.
